Sophie Iredale
Equine Assisted Therapist, Counsellor, Student Support
Sophie is a trauma informed qualified counselor specialising in Equine Assisted Therapy. She is married, mother to 4 grown children, has 4 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats and started her career as a registered nurse.
She worked in a variety of hospital settings with people from all walks of life facing health challenges and provided support to people at their most vulnerable times including palliative care.
Sophie left nursing and became a flight attendant, traveled Australia, met different kinds of people and supported them to stay calm during flights and leaving family members.
She then bought a cafe in Tallebudgera Valley which became a place for the community to come together, feel like they belonged and supported them to remember to slow down. While at the cafe she qualified in LomiLomi Massage and Reiki 2 healing, then her Journey began in Equine Assisted Mental Health.
As a Therapist she supports people to feel calm, safe, grounded and encourages them to slow down to stay connected to self. Sophie draws upon Art Therapy, Equine Therapy, Person-Centered, Nature Based and Mindful Practices.
